Backups are an essential part of our business at SmartHost. Protecting ourselves and our customers against loss of data, updates or human errors, malware infections, and many other issues is an extremely important part of SmartHost’s procedures.
Recently, a massive fire in the OVH Data Centre in France has brought backups and data recovery into the limelight once again. We want to reassure all SmartHost customers that we take backups seriously.
We perform 4 x daily backups on our shared hosting servers. This is free of charge and applies to every hosting package we provide. This is also supplemented with a full daily snapshot of all data, making sure we have your data covered at all times.
In addition to local backups, we also carry out offsite backups daily. These daily backups are stored for a total of 5 days, meaning we have an extensive backlog of data available if you need it.
